ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant and supportive Assessment Research and Analysis team in the English Language Teaching division.
The Assessment Research and Analysis manager is responsible supporting the activities of the Research and Analysis team in the design and continuous validation of English language tests, consistent with the Division’s vision and values. This role is also responsible for documenting, carrying out, improving, and automating research and analysis processes.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
ABOUT YOU-
To be successful in this role, you will be an excellent problem solver and communicator, and additionally you will need:
Essential:
- A Master’s degree or published papers in language assessment, computational linguistics, applied linguistics, or a related field
- Knowledge of English Language Teaching assessment
- Ability to handle large data sets accurately and efficiently
- Ability to use Excel to manage and manipulate data
- Programming capability in Python, R, or similar language
- Familiarity with Rasch measurement concepts
Desirable:
- Ability to use software to conduct Rasch analysis (e.g. WINSTEPS and FACETS)
- Familiarity with a range of statistical techniques used in social sciences
- Knowledge of natural language processing, educational data mining, or learning analytics
- Working knowledge of with PowerBi or SQL
