The biostatistician will support clinical epidemiology and biomedical research for the Campus Collaborative Research Core (CCRC) program and the Biostatistics Core at New York Medical College for both the college and Touro University. The biostatistician will design studies, collect, and analyze data from medical experiments, interpret the results of the analyses, and collaborate in writing articles to disseminate research findings. They use the quantitative tools of mathematics, statistics, and computing in their day-to-day work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with SHSP Faculty to plan direction and support for incoming projects. Contribute to planning, data assessment, data analysis, and interpretation of studies supported by Campus Collaborative Research and the Biostatistics Core.
  • Guide study design, sample size calculation, randomization procedures, and data analysis methods, perform statistical analyses, and interpret results for researchers.
  • Generate figures and statistical tables for conference presentations and journal publications. Ensure adherence to statistical standards and best practices in research methodologies.
  • Assist in writing and reviewing statistical sections of research proposals, manuscripts, and grant applications.
  • Assist in the Myocarditis study, generating descriptive and analytical data, performing statistical analysis, and interpreting results for researchers

EDUCATION

Qualifications

M.S. in Statistics, M.P.H. in Epidemiology or another quantitative field.

Technical/Computer Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical methodologies, study design, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in a statistical software package, such as R, SAS, or STATA.
  • MicrosoftOffice Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Prior Experience

Minimum of two years of related professional experience

Other Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex statistical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

Minimum Salary: USD $100,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary: USD $120,000.00/Yr.
