Responsibilities
Data Analysis
- Gather, analyze, and interpret complex datasets to inform decision-making processes.
- Select data samples to gather necessary information.
- Analyze collected information using established statistical methods.
- Prepare detailed reports, charts, tables, and visual aids to present data findings clearly and effectively
Decision-Making & Reporting
- Perform work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult in character, requiring evaluation, originality, or ingenuity.
- Make independent decisions on matters of significance, within the scope of the role's responsibilities, and free from immediate direction.
- Summarize, interpret, and present results in written, tabular, and visual formats to stakeholders.
Technical & Programming Support
- Utilize information technology and statistical software (e.g., Stata, SAS, R) to manage and analyze data.
- Develop and maintain database infrastructures to support data analysis tasks.
- Conduct computer programming as needed to support data management and analysis.
Skills You Have
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in statistical programming and data visualization.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to business operations significantly
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelors degree in a recognized field of science or learning related to the duties of the position.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in data analysis, with a solid understanding of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
- Proficiency in using statistical software and data management tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate various courses of action.
- Ability to make independent decisions and perform work that may require some level of creativity and originality.
Modes of Work

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
